The film takes place in different apartments of a Los Angeles high rise building from the early twenties. Mat moved in when he arrived from New York four month ago. He is a journalist in his beginning thirties and always looking for mystic stories. Is this building on Nob Hill good for such a story - its dark atmosphere, its inmates who seem to be from an other world? Is this a time zone? Or is it just Mats fantasy?

A cab turns around the corner and stops at the entrance of the building. Sam, a pretty and always happy girl in her end twenties leaves the car, takes her luggage and enters. It turns out that she is Mats girlfriend who follows him from the east coast to LA.

Mat and Sam celebrate their reunion in their penthouse on top of the Nob Hill Tower building while having a party together with Deborah, Ron, Cat and Nina, all inmates of the building. Ron and Cat are Mats new colleges, being journalists themselves. They convinced Mat to move into the building by telling him about stories going on here. Nina is a little older. She looks like to be right out of another time zone. While talking to Sam, she seems to be very smart but at the same time crazy. She gives Sam an important advice…

Later on this evening, Mat and Sam go to bed and they are sleeping together. Than Sam turns to the side and talks to Mat while she is looking up to the sealing. She turns around and looks into the face of a Mats mummy. Sam starts to scream. While she looks up she sees Nina gliding through the dark of the room towards the door looking back to Sam. A very frightening story full of transcendental horror begins…
